Have a chevy astro van the starter was check still wont start,what else could it be?

Try starting it in Neutral, (keep holding key in start position when shifting to Neutral) many times start inhibitor switch at transmission goes bad. Could also be a bad ignition/start key switch, or any interruption (bad contact) in the wiring system.
