When i have sent an email it remains on the screen as if it hasnt been sent. how do i fix it?

That happens to me at times, I just uss the back arrow then go to the Sent folder. I always find it there. I know it's sent because I get a response. This has been happening to many since Yahoo has been installing the new mail.
