In need of a better tug toy.?

The issue is every thing out there is a rope. I need a tug toy for a St bernard. Needs to be strong and durable. The end that he takes has to be a bit bigger because of his mouth size. I am kinda weird. I cant stand that the ropes fall apart. I bought one of the soft braided ropes (think it was made of fleece) and it ripped as I knew it would. So I bought the Kong tug toy and it seems to be too small for his mouth as he just kinda mouthed and spit it out. So that I spent the money on that and he wont use it I either have to give it to the shelter or try to figure out how to make it so he likes it. So I need a better tug toy and/or a way to make mine work. Thanks in advance for all your help!
