How do you make a candle from home?

My wife makes them by buying wax from internet candle supply houses. They come in flakes and she heats them in a crock pot to the recommended temp, pours them in jars with the wicks already in (also from the supply house) wicks held in place with clothes pins until the was sets up. You can get all the supplies-wax, fragrance, wicks and thermostat online.
